Laragh McMonagle creates unique pieces of jewellery. Nature and Ireland’s wild Atlantic coastline with its magical rock pools are a constant inspiration for her work. Always a shell seeker, Laragh creates pieces that interpret and capture the essence of wild flora and fauna… Sculpted silver shells, pods and flowers are all inspired by found her ‘treasures’. The range includes dramatic necklaces, pendants earrings and large shell rings. A love of colour and a fascination with the innate beauty of unusual rough gemstones and crystals, combined with clusters of tiny seed pearls are the foundations for many of her designs…
Pieces evolve as Laragh combines silver with rough nuggets of stone such as aquamarine, amethyst, and labradorite. Shards of kunzite, ruby and chrysocolla also feature… Clusters of tiny seed pearls entwine around rough crystals and stones, creating striking textures and subtle colour combinations. Organic and free in their composition pieces range from delicate, almost fragile, to dramatic wild statement pieces…
